Ji Hyoung is a versatile writer who works in various fields such as novel, TV script, and film scenario. She enjoys satire, humor and black comedy, and is mainly interested in stories of women who cause trouble.
Ji Hyoung majored in Korean language and literature, journalism and Japanese studies in college and film scenario writing in graduate school. She won the Excellency Prize in Korea Content Awards-Story Division in 2015.
In 2019 she published her first novel My Crazy Feminist Girlfriend. This is a feminist romance novel from a first-person viewpoint of the male protagonist. The novel garnered great attention and was translated and published in seven countries including Taiwan, Japan and China. It was also made into a webtoon and will soon be made into a TV series.
In 2021, Ji Hyoung published a novel entitled My Perfect Boyfriend and His Lover, a story centered on an open relationship. In 2023 she published her first SF novel entitled Blessed Are the Forgetful, which is an adventure novel and a love story at the same time. This work is set in the near future, about thirty years from now, where a new device enables users to experience personal memories, their own as well as other people’s, in virtual reality. Two women who would never have encountered each other happen to meet because of this new device and change each other’s lives.
She wrote the script for the 2019 TV series “Leverage: Fraud Control Operation” and has been writing both fiction and scripts for K-dramas.
