Moon-Young Park (박문영)

Moon-Young Park works in a small town in the southern region with her two cats Mise and Meonji. Fiction, cartoon and illustration are her main fields and she tries to keep a picture diary as much as she can. When Moon-Young was a child, her father worked as a contractor to build a front gate for a publishing company, but the company went bankrupt and sent a set of children's story books instead of payment, and this is how Moon-Young became interested in words and drawings. She is interested in things that do not settle and wonder in the peripheries, objects that seem bizarre and helpless but in fact are not, and the psychology of women, children and young adults.

Moon-Young made her debut as a writer when she won the first Cubic Note Short Story Award with "The Breaking Up" (파경). Her works include Let's Draw and Play (그리면서 놀자), The Land of the Mantis (사마귀의 나라), Women of Earth (지상의 여자들), The World of 3n (3n의 세계), Wheel of Life Death Institute (주마등 임종 연구소) and she has participated in collections such as Even Spring Flowers Only Bloom for a While (봄꽃도 한때), You Think You'll Live Forever? (천년만년 살 것 같지?) and We Decided to Leave This Planet (우리는 이 별을 떠나기로 했어). She received the Grand Prize in the second Gwacheon Science Center SF Award in the novellas and short stories category and the Excellency Prize in the sixth SF Award. She is a member of the project group "SF x F" where she studies SF and feminism.
