The  Complete and thorough bio-bibliography of the SFWUK member writers

Jihoon Bae (배지훈)

Jihoon Bae grew up admiring Carl Sagan and Isaac Asimov and went to college to study biology only to realize that he did not want to become a scientist but wanted to write stories featuring scientists. He began writing stories while he was a member of the SF club at the PC network Hitel and received a kindly but ruthless critique for his first work and decided to write a little more in earnest and that is how he got here.

He planned to submit his work for the second Science Technology Creative Literature Award in 2005 but found a grave inconsistency in the story and while re-writing missed the deadline and submitted the novella "Unique" (유니크) in 2006 and won the Science Technology Creative Literature Award in the Novellas category. In 2007 he published a story that could be considered a sequel, entitled "Entangle" (인탱글), in the online young adults literary magazine Geulteen. And he also participated in translating Heinlein’s Coventry and Bujold’s Vorkosigan Saga. In 2016 he published a novella entitled "Sting" (스팅) in the SF magazine Futuroscope. In 2017 he published a short story, “Those Who Went Back” (돌아간 사람들), in Science Donga.

Jihoon most enjoys writing about how a certain scientific technology can change a society from its very fundaments. He also strives to write stories that depict how these changes can be undone. He walks back and forth in front of a whiteboard full of blues and reds in hopes that maybe one day a story would appear by autogenesis.
