Seoyoung mostly writes SF and fantasy featuring labor issues. She began her literary career by publishing short stories entitled "The Origin of the Species" (종의 기원) and "Elephant Beyond the Castle Gates" (성문 너머 코끼리) in the SF-fantasy webzine Mirror. Her own works include short story collections entitled The Taste of the Alligator (악어의 맛) and Yumi's Lover (유미의 연인), and a Lovecraftian novel entitled Pray Descend to the Lowest Place (낮은 곳으로 임하소서). Collections and anthologies that she participated in include The Superhero Next Door (이웃집 수퍼히어로), Thankfully, Graduating (다행히 졸업), Women Writers' SF Short Stories (여성작가SF단편모음집), Not Over Yet (아직은 끝이 아니야), Doro The Seam Engine Man (기기인 도로), and Mermaid’s Toddling (인어의 걸음마). What kind of human beings technology decides to serve or to exclude, and whether the excluded by technology could take control of technology and fight back, are her main interests.
