Bora writes fiction, translates mainly (but not only) Russian and Polish literature, and participates in protests firmly wearing her mask. She is fully vaccinated and twice boosted. In 2014 her short story The Seed(씨앗) won the Gwacheon Science Center SF Award, second prize in Short Stories category. This was an important event in her life which officially established her as a science fiction writer. In 2021 Cursed Bunny(저주토끼), a collection of her non-science fiction short stories, was published in English by Honford Star. Cursed Bunny was shortlisted for the International Booker Prize in 2022. Bora likes dark and magical stories and stories about strong women who fight to survive in an unjust and violent world.
