Eah CHOI (최이아)

Eah began writing fiction while working at a labor union as an activist. He thinks it is ironic that he gained his courage to attempt writing fiction while feeling powerless in the face of injustice. He majored in chemistry in college, which he finds helpful when writing science fiction. So he is belatedly grateful to the major he chose.

Eah’s short story entitled “Jenny’s Paradox” (제니의 역) won the Excellency Prize in Korea Science Fiction Literature Awards in 2023. This work was praised by the judges for its good storytelling because the speaker's description was excellent. It was also evaluated that the imagination of what would happen if Android entered multicultural families is attractive.

Eah’s observes the events and phenomena around him and adds literary imagination to write his fiction. He strives to show familiar topics in a strange new way and to interpret strange new topics in a fun way. He is deeply interested in feminism, basic science, desire, egocentrism, alienation and solidarity. He writes fast when he is angry, which he considers his weakness. He wishes to write something unexpected to make everybody laugh. And he hopes to become a prolific writer.
